Olvera Street October 2010
Students Enjoy Day of The Dead
on
Saturday, October 30th, 2010
On Saturday, October 30th, students arrived at the Metro Blue Line and purchased their train passes for the day. For many students, it was their first time purchasing a ticket and riding the train. Students, with the help of Ms. Irish, experienced commuter travel for the first time and navigated their way through the 7th Street Station. Students then changed trains from the Blue Line to the Red Line and finally landed at the Union Station.
At the Union Station students took in the great architecture and then made their way across the avenue to Olvera Street. Olvera Street was alive with music, performances, and activities going on in the square. Students were able to sample food, music, and much of the culture that Olvera street has to offer.
