2011 JMAC WBL Project
Linked Learning Alliance Fall Convening
October 12, 2012 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
The Grand Event Center Long Beach, California
On October 12, 2011 JMAC students arrived at Jordan before 7:00 AM, packed their equipment, adjusted their ties and boarded a bus to the Grand Event Center to work as photographers, boom operators, and video crew for the Linked Learning Alliance Fall Convening. JMAC was able to use the new Nikon SLR 5100 cameras, four new Panasonic HD video cameras, tripods, and the two new shotgun microphones for our boom operators. JMAC brought 5 crews that visited three local sites: Long Beach City College, CSU, Long Beach, and the LBUSD District Office. The crews also filmed the convening at the Grand Event Center and the panels of distinguished guests including Mayor Bob Foster, Superintendent Christopher Steinhauser, Tom Adams, California Department of Education, to name a few. This Work Based Learning experience gave JMAC students a chance to demonstrate their technical knowledge and communication skills amongst other students and adults in a professional work setting. GO JMAC!
