Cherry Hill Film Festival 2014

In May of 2014, Jordan High School and Lakewood High School held the very first Cherry Hill Film Festival. Paul Copeland, teacher at Lakewood, and Jodi Irish, teacher at Jordan, collaborated in the planning and the execution of the LBUSD film festival. The two teachers designed rubrics, the entry process for students, the film categories, and the film festival event. Many hours were spent planning the event and developing a process in which the students would submit their work on YouTube. Both Lakewood and Jordan students attended the event and assisted in preparing and serving food and beverages. Lakewood students provided "live classical music" for the red carpet event and all that attended had a marvelous time! It was a great event to showcase student work and for colleagues in the two small learning communities to work together. Best Film Overall all won $100.00 and all directors received an Oscar Award. We look forward to working together next year and hope to get more LBUSD high schools involved! Go Jordan and Lakewood!
