I was born in Mexico but raised in the United States. I am a native speaker of the spanish language. I grew up in the Wilmignton area and went to Banning High School. I graduated from the California State University at Dominguez Hills with a double major in Spanish and Mexican American Studies. I have been teaching for twenty five years. Seven with the L.A. Unified School District and eighteen more with the Long Beach Unified School District.
I am presently working with the IB program. I have the Junior Class in my AP Spanish Lit. I am also teaching the Senior IB HL Spanish Class and four courses of Spanish for Spanish Speakers 1-2.
Mission for the Classes: I hope that each of my students learn to speak, write Spanish and learn about the Hispanic Culture. Furthermore, I hope they understand that a key to success in life and in my class is to have mutual respect. As Benito Juarez (Mexican President) put it:
"El respeto al derecho ajeno es la paz."
