FLA Mission
The mission of the LBUSD Female Leadership Academy is to empower young women and increase their graduation rates and their entrance into institutions of higher learning. The program seeks to develop successful leaders by addressing the multi-faceted issues facing young women.

We meet in room 1306 every Thursday at 3:00 pm. You will be notified of special events and guest speakers.
Female Leadership Acadamy Goals
- Empower young women through academic, cultural and real world experiences
- Integrate extracurricular opportunities within the school program

- Instill qualities that lead to success
Special Events
Field trip to the Long Beach GreenPort Festival and Women's Conference. The Female Academy members toured the port's latest features and celebrated an 80% reduction in pollutants. After attending sessions at the Women's Conference and participating in discussions on top women's issues, the girls topped the day at the nearby Reef Restaurant, overlooking Alamitos Bay. A very successful day!
